Elegant English sterling silver (925) tankard dating from the late Victorian period (late 19th century). The tankard features finely engraved floral decoration with a central cartouche, traditionally intended for a coat of arms or commemorative inscription.
The piece shows the classic shape of English ale tankards, with a pedestal base and angular handle typical of British silverware of this period.
