Ring - 9 karat Rosegull - Signert Schmoll Cameo

Gorgeous Victorian Signed Schmoll shell cameo ring set in 9ct rose gold. The cameo is carved in relief from a shell, featuring a profile of Godess Flora. The shell appears to be a light color, contrasting with the darker background, which enhances the details of the carving. The gold setting follows the curve of the shell, a typical design element in Victorian-era cameo rings. Cameo rings have a long history, dating back to ancient Greece and Rome. They experienced a resurgence in popularity during the Victorian era (1837-1901), when they were often worn as a symbol of sentimentality and remembrance. Shell cameos, like the one shown, became popular during this time. The carving on the cameo often depicted classical figures, mythological scenes, or portraits, reflecting the artistic tastes of the period. The ring in the image appears to be dating back to the Victorian era or later, given the style of the setting and the carving. The overall design and craftsmanship suggest that this ring is a well-preserved example of a classic cameo ring. Measurements: Weight 4 grams Size 14 or N All measurements are approximate. Photographs are part of the description. Note: Many of my items are vintage and are therefore likely to show some age-related wear. This can include things such as: missing stones scratches, discolouration etc. Please be sure to look through each photograph carefully and read the description fully, to get an idea of condition. The ring band looks slightly distorted. Import charges are the responsibility of the buyer!
