Published in the portable collection Das Kleine Museum edited by Carl Laszlo, Edition Panderma, Basel La Lune en Rodage is considered one of the most significant portable editions of post-war and contemporary art. Carl Laszlo brought together the leading artists of his time; many of the works included mark a turning point in their respective careers and production. Gerd Arntz was a member of the Cologne-based Progressive Artists group and ranks among the defining figures of 20th-century political printmaking. In abstracted figures rendered as woodcuts and linocuts, he depicted the life of the working class and the struggle between labour and capital.
