Maurizio Valch (1972) - XXL - Territorial Passage

Dimensions: 80 × 120 cm (full image). The artwork is shipped unframed and unstretched, carefully rolled inside a protective tube to ensure safe delivery. A contemporary abstract acrylic painting where a structured territory is articulated through intersecting planes and directional lines. The composition is defined by a deep blue field, interrupted by geometric elements that introduce contrast and spatial tension. Fine incised lines traverse the surface, connecting different areas of the composition and creating a network of subtle transitions. These lines function as structural pathways, guiding the viewer across the painting and establishing relationships between distinct zones. Geometric forms appear distributed throughout the space as points of presence. Their placement creates rhythm and scale, reinforcing the architectural nature of the composition and emphasizing the balance between structure and movement. A central convergence of lines defines the core of the image, where multiple directions meet and reorganize the spatial structure. This intersection introduces a dynamic tension within an otherwise stable and controlled field. This contemporary abstract painting emphasizes connection, balance and structural clarity. The work operates as a constructed territory, where space emerges through directional relationships, proportion and controlled tension rather than representation. About the artist Maurizio Valch is a visual artist, writer and graphic designer, trained in Graphic Design and Fine Arts. He lived in Miami (USA) until 2013, where he ran his own studio, and later in Barcelona (Spain), where he participated in exhibitions at the Royal Artistic Circle. In 2017 he presented a work at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. He has also collaborated with MACBA. His work explores the genesis of metaphysical territories — pictorial spaces where geological landscape and human consciousness begin to intersect. Using a visual language inspired by geology, horizon lines and tectonic formations, Valch constructs territories where the emergence of individual awareness appears to arise from the earth itself. Within these landscapes, symbolic elements such as stairways, monolithic forms and architectural traces act as markers of perception, transition and genesis. Rather than depicting historical narratives or social structures, his paintings focus on a primordial moment: the appearance of individual consciousness within the territory. Many of his works are accompanied by original poetic texts written by the artist. TikTok: @maurizio_valch Facebook: MaurizioValch X (Twitter): @MauriValch Instagram: @mauriziovalch mauriziovalch.com
