Caroni “Tasting Gang” 23 Years Old – 38th Release is a full proof blended Trinidad rum distilled in 1996 at the legendary Caroni Distillery and bottled in 2019 after 23 years of aging. This release was created from a selection of 22 barrels chosen by a group of Caroni enthusiasts (“Tasting Gang”) from across Europe. The rum underwent double maturation: initially aged in Trinidad until 2008, then transferred to Guyana (DDL) where it continued aging until bottling. It is fully tropically aged, with an exceptionally high angel’s share exceeding 85%. Bottled by Velier at natural cask strength (63.5% ABV), it showcases the classic Caroni profile: intense, heavy, and complex, with notes of tar, rubber, burnt sugar, spices, and dark fruits. Limited release of 5,083 bottles. Bottle comes with original box. Fill level is high. Capsule and seal intact, with slight imperfections on the tax strip visible in photos. Overall in very good condition.
