Original PixTech prototype and evaluation kit for Field Emission Display (FED) technology, dating from the 90s.
FED was an advanced flat panel display technology developed as a high performance alternative to CRT and early LCD combining CRT like image quality with a thin form factor. PixTech was one of the very few companies to successfully produce working FED modules.
This kit is a non commercial engineering / demonstration system used for R&D, evaluation or technology showcase purposes.
