He studied at the Higher Industrial School of Construction in Liberec, then worked as a designer. He participated in the founding of the Studio of Fine Art Photography in Liberec. He was a member of UVU and an honorary member of AF. From In 1967 he took photographs professionally. In free photography, he depicted objects taken out of their usual context, transforming reality into new images, sometimes combined with a female nude. He created imaginative images close to informal, he also devoted himself to graphics created by photographic technology. His works are represented in the collections of the North Bohemian Museum Liberec, MG Brno, UPM Prague, Victoria and Albert Museum London, Maison Européenne audiovisuel de la Photographie Paris, Bibliotheque nationale de France Paris, The Art Institute of Chicago.
