Anna Hue-Roques

The panel features a strictly symmetrical composition. The lower section consists of clean, clear geometric rectangles designed to let in optimal daylight, leading up to a dramatic and complex ornamental top border.
The upper frieze features two highly stylized, anthropomorphic or totem-like figures flanked by dynamic, sweeping scrolls.
The warm, rich color palette is dominated by deep amber, golden yellow, and striking accents of ruby red.

Craftsmanship & Advanced Techniques

This piece is a testament to high-end, custom artisanal glasswork of the early 20th century:Kiln-Fired Enameling (Grisaille/Kontoer): The fluid, sweeping black lines and intricate organic scrolls are hand-painted onto the glass using traditional glass paints and subsequently kiln-fired to permanently fuse with the glass.Hand-Knapped Wave Detail: A highly rare and technically demanding feature is the black, sawtooth-edged horizontal glass element in the upper center. This dramatic texture was achieved by meticulously hand-cutting and knapping (gruizen) thick, dark glass to create a raw, wave-like expressionist edge.Textured Glass & Silver Stain: The amber and ruby sections utilize beautiful, textured cathedral and antique glass which scatters light in a vibrant, lively manner. The brilliant yellow vertical accents are likely achieved through traditional silver staining.

 Provenance & Studio Attribution

This panel is a bespoke piece created for a specific architectural commission, likely by one of the premier stained glass studios of Haarlem:Primary Attribution: Atelier De Vonk (Haarlem, active 1923–1935). The mystical, mask-like silhouettes and the synthesis of structural geometry with symbolic, fluid linework strongly match the distinct artistic signature of De Vonk's lead masters, Nico Schrier and Huib de Ru.Secondary Attribution: Atelier Willem Bogtman. As the most influential Amsterdam School glass studio in the region (where Nico Schrier was originally trained), this panel heavily reflects the technical excellence and color choices championed by Bogtman's master craftsmen.Technical SpecificationsPeriod: ca. 1915 – 1930Style: Amsterdam School / Art Deco / Expressionism Origin: Haarlem

Condition Report (Important for Bidders)Overall Condition: Authentic, un-restored vintage condition with a beautiful historic patina. A wonderful project for a collector or professional conservator.Leadwork: The lead cames are original but have become unstable and pliable over time (wobbly).
The panel requires careful handling and will need professional re-soldering or reinforcement to regain full structural rigidity.Glass Condition: The rare colored and enameled glass segments are vibrant and fully intact.
Specific Damage:There is a clean hairline crack in the clear glass section in the upper left corner, situated directly above the arch of the left figure.

Packaging & Shipping Note
Due to the fragile state of the original leadwork, this item will be packed with the utmost care. It will be secured using specialized shock-absorbing materials and rigid reinforcement to ensure safe transit to the winning bidder.
