Ottoman Empire Document Archive - 8 Land Deeds (Tapu) & 2 Population Certificates (Nüfus Tezkiresi) - Late 19th/Early 20th Century (Balkans/Macedonia region)
10 original Ottoman Empire documents from the late 19th to the early 20th century. This cohesive family/property archive belongs to the Balkan provincial territories of the Ottoman Empire (Macedonia region) and is in well-preserved, legible condition.
The lot includes:
2 Ottoman Population/Identity Certificates (Devlet-i Aliyye-i Osmaniyye Nüfus Tezkiresi): Large, folded documents featuring the prominent and elegant Imperial Calligraphic Monogram (Tughra) of the Sultan at the top. They contain demographic registry details of the individuals, official stamps, and revenue tax stamps.
8 Ottoman Land Title Deeds (Defter-i Hakani Senedi / Tapu): Official real estate certificates registry for state-owned land (Arazi-i Miriye). These documents feature a printed circular emblem at the top center, detailed administrative tables specifying boundaries, land categories, values, and property owners, along with multiple official fiscal stamps, regional seals, and revenue stamps at the bottom.
Historical Markings: Some documents feature interesting period pencil notation on the reverse side in old cursive Cyrillic script, added during later administrative transitions in the Balkans.
Condition: Good vintage/antique condition. Natural aging, minor edge wear, folds, and some water staining or foxing spots consistent with age, which do not affect the legibility of the Ottoman Turkish script or the integrity of the official seals.
