The primary highlight of this piece is the dramatic glaze run (yu-dare) along the lower body. Where the glaze accumulated during firing, it created a stunning, vibrant blue hue—a natural phenomenon highly prized in Japanese tea ceramics. Kannyu (Crackle Pattern): Fine crackle patterns (kannyu) run throughout the entire surface. This is a defining characteristic of Hagi ware, known for "Hagi no Nanabake" (the seven transformations of Hagi), where the color subtly ripens and changes over years of use as tea stains penetrate the crackles.
