Pierre Sala - Frakkstativ - Tre

Vintage Pierre Sala "Pencil" Coat Rack A rare and highly collectible freestanding coat rack designed by French designer Pierre sala, Crafted from solid wood and finished in vibrant hand-painted colours, the coat rack features a green pencil-shaped upper section with a natural wood-effect sharpened tip, a contrasting red shaft, and a yellow cruciform base for stability. Multiple rounded pegs in primary colours are arranged at varying heights, providing practical storage for coats, hats, scarves and bags. Pierre Sala became known for his imaginative pencil-inspired furniture, a series that included coat racks, mirrors, shelving, tables and children's furniture. His work reflects the optimism and graphic language of the Memphis era while maintaining a distinctly French approach to craftsmanship and functionality. Today, his original pieces are increasingly sought after by collectors of late 20th-century design and rarely appear on the market. Whether placed in an entrance hall, children's room, creative studio or contemporary interior, this striking coat rack functions equally well as a practical furnishing and a sculptural statement piece. Made in France Material: Wood Size: 124cm( Height) X 34.5cm (Width) Weight: 1.2kg Condition: In good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Pierre Sala was born in Paris in 1948. Unlike most furniture designers, Pierre Sala did not study architecture or drawing. He comes from the theater world and studied gestural semiology, body langage and scenography. In 1969 he became director, in 1973 director of theater. Resolutely different, he does not apprehend furniture in a traditional way. Furniture is a spectacle in itself, the opportunity to break the usual laws for the benefit of imagination, pleasure, spectacular. From 1981 until 1984, he multiplied the Salons in France and abroad. In September 1981 he was at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, in 1982 in Milan, in March 1983 in Philadelphia (USA). His furniture was edited in small quantities, sometimes remained prototype. It is for each of them to be a small show in the interior of its owner. Shipping by Post NL with tracking, insurance included. The product will be professionally packed to ensure that it arrives to you in the condtion that you see on the photo.
