Ingen reservasjonspris - Pipe - Tornebusk, Messing, horn

characterful and distinctly French tobacco pipe from one of the most celebrated pipe-making houses in the world. Butz-Choquin has been manufactured in Saint-Claude — known as "the world capital of the briar pipe" — since the Berrod-Regad company acquired the brand in 1951. (Reborn Pipes) Their flair for unusual and non-traditional shapes began in 1963 when Claude Berrod started to experiment with new forms, which was truly revolutionary for a French maker at the time. (Smokingpipes) This bent billiard-style pipe features a beautifully grained briar bowl with a rich warm honey-brown patina and fine birdseye grain throughout. The shank is fitted with a brass ferrule connecting to a substantial horn extension — a classic and luxurious 19th-century pipe-making tradition — which then curves into a horn mouthpiece. The stem is engraved with the initials "BC." The shank is engraved on one side with "Butz-Choquin" (partially legible) and "Montagnard" (meaning "mountain dweller" in French, evoking the Alpine Jura region where it was made), and on the reverse with "St. Claude." The mouthpiece had BC carved on yhe side Materials: Briar bowl, brass ferrule, natural horn stem and mouthpiece Condition: Bowl and shank in good used vintage condition with attractive patina. The horn mouthpiece has a crack/chip at the bit end (shown in images) — a common issue with aged horn stems — which affects function but not display. The brass ferrule shows appropriate age toning. Dimensions: 15 × 13 × 3.5 cm | Weight: 69g A genuine piece of French pipe-making heritage, ideal for the collector or as a decorative antique object.
