It is relatively clean overall. There are some minor scratches and normal dirt due to its age. It looks clean under normal fluorescent light, but there are some fine scratches (cleaning marks) and visible dust inside when checked under a strong LED light. However, I have practically tested this lens on a digital mirrorless camera (Sony NEX-3) with an adapter, and I can confirm that these minor optical flaws do NOT affect the final images at all.
