Corina Dinu - "Our Golden Hour" — 150x90cm

Some embraces you can feel even in paint — the way two bodies lean into each other without needing to speak. Here, a man and a woman hold each other close, foreheads nearly touching, while gold leaf clocks tick quietly around them, as if time itself agreed to slow down for this one hour. Artist: Corina Dinu, Romanian, b. 1979 "Our Golden Hour," 2026, acrylic and gold leaf on canvas, heavy impasto and fine detail work Dimensions: Image size: 150 x 90 cm Canvas size (full): 160 x 100 cm Signed by hand on the back Unique work, not a print or edition — one of one Sold directly from my studio Certificate of Authenticity included, provided upon sale Condition: Excellent, as created — no restoration, no damage, no fading Sent unframed, rolled in a rigid protective tube. Shipment is insured for full value and fully tracked, with tracking number provided upon dispatch. I built this piece around the feeling of an embrace you know won't last forever — the hour when everything looks warmer than it is, when two people hold each other and the clocks around them keep turning anyway. Their clothing carries the same density as the rest of the piece: intricate patchworks of small squares in red, teal, and deep purple, worked with as much care as the faces themselves, so the embrace feels lived-in rather than posed. Gold leaf and heavy impasto run throughout, catching light differently depending on where you stand. This piece continues a theme I keep returning to: closeness between two people, held against something larger and harder to control — in this case, time itself. I trained in Middle School and High School at the "Hariclea Darclee" Arts School in Romania and in Fine Arts and at the Istituto Marangoni, and my work has been sold through the Tate Gallery and Rippingham Art Gallery in London.
