Ikon - Flerdelt ikon (sju-delt) - Tre
antique Russian Orthodox multi-part icon (Seven-Part Icon / Семичастная икона) dating back to the late 19th century (circa 1880–1890s).
This finely detailed piece reflects the rich tradition of provincial Russian icon painting, likely originating from one of the famous iconographic centers of the Vladimir region (Mstera, Kholuy, or Palekh). The icon features a complex, highly sought-after composition divided into three tiers:Top Tier: The Virgin of Kazan (left), The Resurrection of Christ / Harrowing of Hell (center), and St. Nicholas the Thaumaturgist (right).Middle Tier: Selected Saints, including the Court of Archangel Michael in the center, flanked by St. Modestus and other venerated saints.Bottom Tier: St. George Slaying the Dragon (left), Holy Martyr Ekaterina / Catherine (center), and Holy Martyr Nikita (right).
Condition Report:The icon is in good antique condition with a wonderful authentic patina. The painted surface remains stable with rich, deep colors. As expected with an item of this age, there are minor signs of wear, light paint thinning, craquelure, and some abrasions/chipping along the outer edges of the wooden panel. The back shows age-appropriate wear and minor restoration to the lower wooden splint. No major modern interventions or overpainting detected.
