Elegant og sjeldent ensemble til salongen bestående av to lenestoler med armlene og en samtalestol i «conversation chair»-stil eller chaise de confidence, laget i lyst valnøtttre i første halvdel av det nittende århundre. Ensemblet uttrykker perfekt den raffinerte smaken fra Restaurasjons-/Karl X-perioden, preget av myke linjer, harmoniske proporsjoner og dempet borgersk eleganse.

De to lenestolene har litt konkav rygg, buede armlener og bred, innbydende sitteflate; den sentrale samtalestolen, med omvendt ryggstøtte og polstret nakkestykke, var tenkt for å muliggjøre en uformell posisjon under samtalen i aristokratiske og borgerlige salonger på 1800-tallet. Denne modellen, sjelden og svært dekorativ, er i dag spesielt ettertraktet innen interiørdesign og europeiske antikkesamlinger.

Rammene viser en vakker varm patina fra gammel valnøtt, med naturlige årringer tydelig synlige. Sittestillinger og ryggstøtter er polstret i et blomsterstoff i nyanser av rosa og prunetone, med en bevisst eklektisk og teatralsk smak som skaper en interessant kontrast mellom det ottocenteske klassisisme og samtids dekorativ estetikk.

Elegant salon set with two armchairs and a conversation chair – France/Italy, Restoration / Charles X period, 19th century

Refined and unusual antique salon set composed of two armchairs and one conversation chair (also known as chaise de confidence), crafted in solid walnut during the first half of the 19th century. The ensemble beautifully reflects the elegant taste of the Restoration / Charles X period, characterized by graceful curves, balanced proportions, and understated sophistication.

The two armchairs feature gently curved backrests, elegant open arm supports, and generously upholstered seats. The central conversation chair, with its reversed upholstered crest rail, was specifically designed to allow intimate and informal conversation in aristocratic and bourgeois salons of the 19th century. This rare and highly decorative model is now especially appreciated by collectors and interior designers.

The walnut frames display a beautiful warm antique patina with visible natural grain. The seats and backrests have been upholstered in a floral pink and plum fabric, creating an eclectic and theatrical contrast between 19th-century classicism and contemporary decorative taste.
