Patricia Lee Smith (født 30. desember 1946) er en amerikansk sanger, låtskriver, poet, maler, forfatter og fotograf. Hennes debutalbum fra 1975 Horses gjorde henne til et innflytelsesrikt medlem av New York City-basert punkrocken-bevegelse. Smith har fusionert rock og poesi i sitt arbeid. I 1978 ble hennes mest kjente sang, "Because the Night", skrevet i samarbeid med Bruce Springsteen, nådde nummer 13 på Billboard Hot 100 og nummer fem på UK Singles Chart.

I 2005 ble Smith utnevnt til Commander av Ordre des Arts et des Lettres av det franske Kulturdepartementet. I 2007 ble hun innlemmet i Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I november 2010 vant Smith National Book Award for memoaren Just Kids, skrevet for å oppfylle et løfte hun ga til Robert Mapplethorpe, hennes langsiktige partner. Hun er rangert som nummer 47 på Rolling Stone-magasinets 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, publisert i 2010, og ble tildelt Polar Music Prize i 2011.
