Beskrivelse fra selgeren

Hamilton Chronograph Automatic – Ref. 9037 – LWO 283 / ETA 2892-2 – 40 Jewels – 1990s

Rare and elegant Hamilton automatic chronograph, reference 9037, dating from approximately the early 1990s.

This unusual Hamilton combines the proportions of a classic dress watch with a sophisticated automatic chronograph movement. It features a beautifully preserved white dial with applied Roman numerals, gold-tone hands and markers, three recessed chronograph registers, date display and an outer tachymeter scale.

At approximately 38.5 mm excluding the crown, the watch has excellent proportions for a vintage chronograph and wears considerably more contemporary than many chronographs of the period.

The highlight is undoubtedly the movement: the Hamilton calibre LWO 283, a sophisticated 40-jewel automatic chronograph based on the slim ETA 2892-2 automatic calibre combined with a chronograph module. This architecture allowed Hamilton to produce a considerably slimmer and more refined chronograph than watches using the ubiquitous Valjoux 7750.

Condition

The watch is in very good vintage condition.

The white dial is particularly well preserved, retaining crisp printing, sharp applied Roman numerals and attractive gold-tone details. The crystal remains clear and the stainless-steel case retains strong definition, showing only normal signs of careful use consistent with its age.

The movement is clean and the watch runs correctly and kept good time during a 24-hour observation.

The chronograph starts, stops and resets correctly to zero.

Please note that the start/stop pusher feels slightly firmer than normal and returns somewhat slowly after being pressed. This does not prevent correct operation of the chronograph and may simply require attention/lubrication during a future routine service. This is disclosed transparently for the future owner.

A particularly interesting Hamilton for collectors, combining an elegant early-1990s design, excellent 38.5 mm dimensions and a far less common automatic chronograph architecture than the conventional Valjoux-powered watches of the period.

Watch only. No original box or papers. Original Hamilton buckle included.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
