The Harman Kardon TD292 is a high-quality two-head hi-fi cassette deck produced in Japan between 1985 and 1986. The deck is part of Harman Kardon's well-known "Ultrawideband Linear Phase" range, which is designed to deliver a very wide frequency response and transparent, true-to-life sound reproduction. Although it is a two-head model (one combined head for recording/playback and one erasing head), this model is known among audio enthusiasts for its excellent performance that could compete with more expensive systems at the time. Main Specifications Heads: 1 x Sendust combination head for recording/display, 1 x erasing head. Tape support: Suitable for Type I (Normal), Type II (Chrome) and Type IV (Metal) cassettes. Noise cancellation: Equipped with Dolby B and Dolby C. Frequency range: 20 Hz to 21,000 Hz (±3 dB) on all tape types, which is exceptionally wide for a two-head deck. Wow and flutter: 0.05% WRMS (very stable tape loop). Manual controls: Equipped with a fine control for the bias (Bias Fine Trim), input balance and a switchable MPX filter for radio recordings.
