Beautiful vintage Italian nativity crib set, preserved in its original box. The set consists of a large group of hand-painted nativity figures, including the Holy Family, the Three Wise Men, shepherds, animals and an angel. The figures are approximately 10 cm / 4 inches in scale. The original box is still present and bears the label: “Made in Italy – Cribset – Patinato – cm 10 / inch 4” The set is believed to date from approximately the 1960s–1970s, based on the style, construction and original packaging. No manufacturer’s mark has been found, so the dating remains approximate. The figures are in remarkably good vintage condition for their age, with only minor signs of wear consistent with use and storage. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description and show the exact contents of the set. A particularly nice detail is the original camel figure, which has survived in very good condition. The legs, tail, neck and both humps are intact, with no obvious breaks or repairs visible. This is noteworthy, as these more delicate figures are often damaged or missing from older nativity sets. A charming and decorative vintage Italian Christmas set.
