SAMIA KERKENI — BLUE OASIS — circa 2024 Original acrylic painting on canvas · Unique work Mineral Energy Series · 70 × 50 cm A meeting of desert warmth and water’s cool depths, Blue Oasis draws the eye into a luminous landscape of sand, turquoise and gold. Soft ivory passages open between earthy ochres and rich blue forms, allowing the composition to breathe. Navy and teal gather into almost architectural shapes, while golden accents punctuate their depths like discoveries beneath the surface. The gaze follows a blue current, pauses in an expanse of light, then returns to the warmth of the surrounding earth. Samia Kerkeni balances flowing colour with more defined gestures. Transparent-looking washes meet denser passages of pigment; gentle transitions give way to expressive edges. These contrasts create an intimate visual rhythm, inviting the viewer to move between the landscape imagined from afar and the painted surface discovered up close. Part of the artist’s Mineral Energy Series, Blue Oasis explores the encounter between movement, matter and stillness. Its vertical composition evokes a place of refuge: water appearing within an arid landscape, a quiet concentration of life and colour. In an interior, its ivory and sandy tones bring softness, while the blues establish a distinctive focal point. Its 70 × 50 cm format offers space for contemplation above a console, within a reading corner or as part of a thoughtfully arranged collection. The reverse carries the artwork’s details and a handwritten poem, extending its contemplative character beyond the visible composition. ARTWORK DETAILS Artist: Samia Kerkeni, born in 1980.
