Sammenleggbar skjerm - Papir, Tre, En to-panel foldeskjerm som skildrer en naturalistisk scene med pæoner (牡丹, Botan). - Japan
A Japanese two-panel screen depicting peonies in bloom, sparrows and rocks on a light background.
Signed lower right.
The peony (牡丹, Botan) is a classic subject in Japanese art and is regarded as the “king of flowers,” symbolizing wealth, prosperity, elegance, and prestige.
The painting belongs to the kacho-ga tradition (bird-and-flower painting), highly appreciated in the modern era for its decorative elegance.
The panels are surrounded by two splendid silk borders, while a lacquered wooden frame completes and protects the screen.
The screen can also be easily mounted on a wall or used as a room divider.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
--- The byobu is in very good condition. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL or FedEx, accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
