Quinta de Roriz's Vintage port is the result of the collaboration between owner João van Zeller and the famous port family Symington (including Grahams, Dows, Warre and Quinta do Vesuvio). Quinta de Roriz has been owned by the van Zeller family since 1815. In the 19th century, Roriz was marketed under its own name; in the 20th century, Roriz wines were marketed under the name of other houses (Noval). Now Quinta de Roriz is renewed under its own name. The name Tinta Roriz is derived from this quinta. The tempranillo grape from Spain was first planted on Roriz in Portugal. The Tinta Francesca from France was also planted here by the founder of Quinta do Roriz: Robert Archibald.
