This striking black-and-white triptych by Æ reimagines Pikachu as a wandering samurai — a quiet warrior suspended between innocence and discipline, tradition and myth. Drawing from Edo-period visual language and Japanese printmaking traditions, the series merges historical aesthetics with contemporary pop iconography.
Across the three panels, the figure moves through symbolic landscapes — mountainous paths, moonlit terrains, and timeless horizons — evoking a solitary journey shaped by restraint, resolve, and inner balance. Rendered through eroded, mezzotint-like textures and controlled chiaroscuro, the works subtly echo the philosophy of wabi-sabi: beauty found in impermanence, silence, and simplicity.
Each artwork stands independently while forming a cohesive visual narrative when displayed together, offering collectors a rare synthesis of Japanese warrior imagery and modern cultural mythology.

Critical response
Art critic Thierry Fournier (Artnoises) writes:
“A transgression of borders, merging the DNA of civilization’s past and future. Æ offers emotional teleportation — a minimalist aesthetic opening onto a timeless void of unexplored signs and symbols.”
