Originally, it is the same mask of DOJI 童子, but JIDO 慈童 is more adorable and fairylike. Jido is a young boy sprite who possesses eternal youth and immortality. His mysterious smile is something different from other children’s. This mask is used for the Mae-shite (a leading role in the first half of a Noh play) in “Oeyama” or the Nochi-shite (a leading role in the latter half of Noh play) in “Tenko”. •Material: Wood •Age: Produced in Heisei Era (平成年代) •Country of origin: Japan •Condition: Used, in excellect condition (This is an aged noh mask.
