Oldtidens Egypt Fajanse «Poseformet» amulett ca. 664–332 f.Kr., sen periode — muligens symbolsk for den

Ancient Egyptian Faience “Bag-Shaped” Amulet with Beaded Arch — Possibly Symbolic of the Ankh or Sacred Vessel — 2 cm, 2.9 g Circa: c. 664–332 BC, Late Period Material: Faience Dimensions: 2 cm height, 2.9 g Mounting: Ancient faience cylindrical beads on a modern 17-inch faux leather cord A refined ancient faience amulet fashioned in the form of a bag or shrine, adorned with an elegant arched handle composed of small ancient cylindrical faience beads. This evocative form symbolises the containment of divine power, life essence, or protective magic, reflecting the Egyptian belief that sacred energy could be held and carried as a form of spiritual protection. The design may also allude to the Ankh, the Egyptian symbol of life, rendered here in a tangible, vessel-like form. Given the amulet’s rare iconography and the intercultural exchange of the Late Period, it is also possible that such a motif was influenced by neighbouring civilisations such as the Sumerians, Babylonians, or Assyrians, where the concept of sacred containers or divine satchels similarly symbolised the carrying of wisdom, life, or heavenly essence. Fashioned in the distinctive turquoise-green faience associated with fertility, rebirth, and divine energy, this piece beautifully embodies the artistic and spiritual ideals of the ancient world. Mounted on a modern faux leather cord for wear or display, it retains a superb ancient patina with traces of mineral encrustation, testifying to its great age and authenticity. Provenance: Ex. British private collection, formed in the 1970s. Condition: Very fine ancient condition with intact faience beads and natural ageing. A must-have for collectors of ancient jewelry or anyone with an appreciation for the rich history of ancient Egypt! ****Please note: Orders shipped outside the EU may be subject to customs fees and import duties.****
