The Contino Reserva 1983 is a red wine from the Viñedos del Contino winery, located in the Rioja Alavesa, Spain. This winery was founded in 1973 and is considered the first "Château" in the Rioja, as it produces exclusively wines from its own 62 hectares of vineyards. Grape variety composition: 85% Tempranillo 10% Mazuelo 5% Graciano The grapes come from vines that are on average 22 years old, although some are even over 60 years old. Winemaking and aging: After manual harvesting, the grapes were destemmed and fermented in small stainless steel tanks to preserve the characteristics of each plot individually. The wine then matured for two years in French oak barrels and a further three years in the bottle before being released onto the market. The wine was optimally stored in the wine cellar and will be shipped in bottle shipping boxes with PTZ approval DHL and UPS for safe transport. Shipping only to the continental EU and CH.
