Painting depicting a view on Castle Harburg from the village before the Wornitz bridge near Donauworth, Bavaria. This painting is executed by the Swiss painter Adolf Frey-Mooch born in 1881 in Jona, Kanton St Gallen and died in 1954 in Steinebrunn, Kanton, Thurgau. Frey- Mooch also worked in Munich were he studied at the " Akademie der Bildenden Kunstler Munich". He exhibited in Munich with " Munchner Kunstler Bundes, die Unabhangingen". The depicted castle Harburg is one of the oldest and best preserved medieval castles of Germany. Is was owned by the princely Oetingen-Wallerstein family and dates back from 1150 AD. The painting in executed in oil on relined canvas. Including the frame it measures 90 x 82 cm. Excluding the frame 67,5 x 58, 75 cm. It is signed lower right.
