A unique rarity! This auction is for a vintage figurine brought from the United States in the 1980s as a gift from a friend. It is a large collector's figurine depicting a Confederate cavalryman from the American Civil War period. They often relied on their personal choice of equipment and uniforms, which were less standardised than in the Union armies. Incredible precision and attention to detail. Each element: the horse, rider, banner, harness, and the rider's uniform and equipment are handmade and hand-painted. Each element is prepared separately and then assembled into a whole. Both the horse in motion and the rider are very realistically rendered. Dimensions: 28 x 23 x 25 cm.
