Chinese embroidered silk robe, dating to the late Qing Dynasty / early Republic of China, circa 1880–1910.
The robe features a prominent dragon motif surrounded by stylised clouds, waves and auspicious floral elements. The dragon is a traditional symbol of power, protection and cosmic balance, commonly used in ceremonial and high-status garments during the late Qing period.

Silk ground fabric
Hand embroidery executed with coloured silk threads and metallic threads
Traditional Chinese cut with wide sleeves and side fastening
Entirely hand-sewn, no machine stitching observed
Iconography
Central dragon motif, surrounded by cloud scrolls and auspicious symbols
