FISH ON LEASH
Catawiki Exclusive Edition
fine art print by Inna Etuvgi
Image size 30x30cm, total paper size 33x34cm
"Why is control so important to us?
Is it about safety — or about the fear of uncertainty?
Why does even the illusion of control feel comforting?
Why is “holding the line” sometimes easier than letting life move on its own?
What can we actually control — our surroundings, others, outcomes?
Or only our own reactions?
Where is the boundary between control and regulation —
between managing our inner state and trying to tame what is alive?
And at what point does control stop protecting us
and begin to quietly govern us instead?"
-Inna Etuvgi

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Inna Etuvgi is a Swedish-Chukchi artist whose work defines the concept of Cybernetic Animism—a bridge between indigenous Arctic intuition and technical precision. Raised in a remote village in Chukotka and trained in technical cybernetics, Etuvgi explores the shared "soul" of natural ecosystems and digital algorithms.
Internationally recognized as an Arte Laguna Prize finalist (Venice) and a recipient of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee grant, her work is held in private collections worldwide. As art critic Tabish Khan notes: “Her work transports us to other worlds—both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature.”
