Caol Ila 35 years old - b. 2018 - 70cl

The Caol Ila whisky was distilled in 1982. It was then aged in re-charred oak hogsheads with a capacity of approximately 250 liters and European oak butts with a capacity of approximately 500 liters. After 35 years, this single malt Islay Scotch whisky was bottled at natural cask strength, boasting a beautiful old-gold color. Over the course of 35 years, it has developed a very intense and creamy bouquet. It has strong aromas of smoke, salted butter, and fish. Glazed apples, pears, raspberries, and pineapple provide harmony. On the palate, the fruity notes are complemented by the spice of nutmeg and white pepper. Soft smoke and woody notes are consistently present. Gradually, a slight peppery heat emerges. On the finish, the Caol Ila 35 Years Old is initially dry. This is followed by chocolatey sweetness, spice, and fresh fruit aromas of apples and pears.
