Dodo – Handmade Glass Sculpture by Maciej Habrat
An extraordinary handcrafted glass sculpture inspired by the iconic Dodo bird, created by Polish glass artist Maciej Habrat, who has specialised in artistic glassmaking for over 20 years. This remarkable artwork is produced using the fusing technique, where opal glass and genuine 24-carat gold flakes are permanently fused together at high temperatures to achieve a refined and contemporary sculptural form.
The elegant silhouette, enriched with shimmering gold accents suspended within the glass, creates a captivating interplay of colour, transparency, and light. Depending on the lighting conditions and viewing angle, the sculpture constantly changes its reflections and depth, giving the artwork a vibrant and ever-evolving appearance.

Maciej Habrat Atelier was founded in 1997 in Krosno, Poland. All glass works are designed and hand-made in a fusing technique by him. Maciej graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Poland-the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass. His style is easily recognized in many galleries around the world and some glass objects were exhibited in the Corning Museum of Glass, USA.
TV ARTE has released a documentarty about the family company and every year during the Ambiente Fair in Frankfurt Maciej's masterpieces allure with colors and forms.
