Opis od sprzedawcy

Vintage Thornton-Pickard Rollfilm Ruby folding film camera — 1925–1934, with Kershaw Anastigmat 1:6.3, f=3¾ in. (shutter speeds approximately 1/5, 1/10, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100 + B/T).
This is a folding roll-film camera produced by the British firm Thornton-Pickard Manufacturing Co. (Altrincham, Cheshire). The body is metal, covered in black leatherette, and fitted with bellows. On the front panel is the characteristic round badge “BRITISH MADE RUBY” with the letter T.
Lens: Kershaw Anastigmat 1:6.3 / 3¾ inches (≈ 95 mm). This is a British anastigmat (triplet), typical of amateur cameras of the period.
Thornton-Pickard was founded in 1888 by John Edward Thornton and Edgar Pickard. The company was one of the leading British camera manufacturers and was particularly well known for its roller-blind shutters. The Ruby series is among the firm’s most famous lines (wooden field cameras from the 1890s, later reflex models, and subsequently more affordable folding cameras).
The Rollfilm Ruby appeared around 1925 and was produced until 1934. It is a late model from the period of the company’s decline: after the First World War, and especially during the 1930s, the firm gradually reduced camera production, finally ceasing it around 1939.
Condition: Good, with signs of use and age. The shutter fires correctly on all speeds; there is some dirt on the lens; the bellows show no obvious light leaks.
The camera holds primarily historical and decorative value as an attractive example of British “vintage” from the 1920s–1930s.
Weight about 0,5 kg. Size 18X8X3,4 cm Package will be send with tracking number, securely packaged to protect it from all potential risks during transportation from Latvia (EU).
