LASVEGUIX

French contemporary artist, Lasveguix develops a singular universe at the crossroads of street art, collage and contemporary painting. His work questions the memory of walls, the passage of time and the poetry of the ephemeral, transforming urban scars into emotionally charged pieces.

Introduced to graffiti by his cousin SUOZ, he forges his visual language through contact with the walls of Paris and London. His work belongs to an artistic lineage where the great names of urban and contemporary art converse. One can find the heritage of Jacques Villeglé and Raymond Hains in the art of torn posters, the sculptural energy of Vhils, the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, the silhouettes of Jérôme Mesnager, the poetry of Miss Tic, the urban memory of Ernest Pignon-Ernest, the stencil of Jef Aérosol, the pixelated universe of Invader and the iconographic strength of Shepard Fairey. Without ever imitating them, Lasveguix asserts a personal, immediately identifiable handwriting.

Torn posters, spray, acrylic, Posca and reliefs compose real "walls’ skins", where tears, superimpositions and traces of time become witnesses to a collective memory. Each work reveals a dialogue between matter, history and emotion, inviting the viewer to rediscover the beauty of what the city seemed to have forgotten.

Lasveguix exhibits regularly in France and internationally. His works join private collections in many countries and reflect a growing interest from collectors. His career leads him to participate in art fairs, prestigious exhibitions as well as charity galas bringing together collectors, patrons and institutions. His work has notably been presented at events organized at Roland-Garros, at the District 13 Art Fair at Hôtel Drouot, in Monaco and in several emblematic venues of the contemporary art scene.

Through each of his creations, Lasveguix gives a second life to the city’s vestiges. He does not represent the walls: he reveals their soul, making urban heritage, memory and creation dialogue in a deeply contemporary and timeless work.
