Macallan Gold - 700ml

Możliwe, że trudno to sobie dzisiaj wyobrazić, ale przez większą część XX wieku Macallan był przede wszystkim maltą składową w mieszankach. Dopiero w latach 80. spadek popytu na rynku skłonił destylarnię do skupienia się na swoim brandzie single malt. Szczęśliwie, zbiegło się to z początkiem fali entuzjazmu dla wysokiej jakości wydań, które destylarnia licencjonowała do Campbell, Hope & King oraz Gordon & MacPhail w latach 60. i 70. Te pozostają jednymi z najbardziej kolekcjonowanych na rynku. Choć globalna sprzedaż single malt wciąż prowadzą sąsiedzi ze Speyside – Glenfiddich i Glenlivet, Macallan pozostaje najchętniej poszukiwany. Tak bardzo, że w 2018 roku musieli otworzyć zupełnie nową destylarnię, podziemne arcydzieło architektury na terenie posiadłości Easter Elchies, z 36 miedzianymi stillami.

The entry level bottling in Macallan's now-discontinued 1824 range, which was produced between 2012 and 2018, and consisted of the Gold, Amber, Sienna and Ruby (there were a few additions at the higher end of the scale as well). Despite the discontinuation of the range, the Gold expression was retained, transistioning to the entry level of the new Double Cask series.
