Opis od sprzedawcy
Vintage Hans Beck St. Gallen Industrial Bakery Transport Tin Box - 1940s/50s - Complete with Leather Strap & Metal Dividers
An exceptional and hard-to-find piece of Swiss industrial and culinary history. Unlike common retail biscuit tins, this is an authentic heavy-duty logistics and laboratory transport box (Transportbehälter) used by the famous bakery Hans Beck (historically known as Biberhus) in St. Gallen, renowned for its traditional St. Galler Biber gingerbread.
This box was designed exclusively for internal transport between the bakery laboratory and regional shops, meaning it was never sold to the public.
Key Features & Condition:
• Minimalist Industrial Design: Finished in a beautiful vintage burgundy/bordeaux color. It features no golden logos or prints, just the bold number "44" in light red on the lid. This number corresponds to the specific product batch or pastry mold size.
• 100% Complete & Original: It incredibly retains its original removable internal metal dividers, which are also stamped with the number "44" to guide the bakers during packing.
• Original Leather Strap: Features its original thick leather belt used to securely lock the lid during transport. The leather shows a beautiful historical patina.
• Authentic Patina: The box shows honest signs of age and wear, with characteristic scratches concentrated on the edges exactly where the leather strap tightened the metal over decades of use.
A superb, untouched collector's item for enthusiasts of industrial design, advertising memorabilia, and vintage Kitchenalia.
