Vintage Transformers Generation 1 Optimus Prime with original-style Combat Deck trailer, dating from the mid-1980s.

The set consists of the transforming Optimus Prime truck/robot and its large silver Combat Deck trailer. The trailer opens to form the classic Autobot command/repair base and includes the internal repair station with articulated mechanical arm and rear loading ramp.

A particularly interesting feature of this example is the red-eyed Optimus Prime head, a feature associated with certain Mexican IGA-produced G1 Optimus Prime variants from the 1980s.

The figure transforms correctly between truck and robot modes and has been photographed in both configurations.

The trailer can also be opened and displayed as the iconic Autobot command base.

The underside of the trailer carries the original Takara / Hasbro 1980–1982 copyright markings with the country-of-origin marking removed, a characteristic documented on Mexican IGA-produced Transformers. Together with the distinctive red-painted eyes of Optimus Prime, this strongly indicates the sought-after Mexican IGA variant.

Condition

This is a genuine vintage toy that has clearly been played with and shows age-related wear.

Visible signs of use include:

paint and chrome wear
wear to the blue lower-leg and foot sections
scratches and surface marks
sticker wear
wear to the rear section of the truck
wear to the front bumper and chrome elements
one exhaust stack shows noticeably different colouring/wear from the other
general signs of handling consistent with a toy approximately 40 years old

Despite the cosmetic wear, the figure still presents very well and retains the unmistakable appearance of the original Generation 1 Optimus Prime.

Important: the set is not complete.

Not included are several of the small original accessories, including the removable fists, rifle/blaster, missiles and other loose accessories. The Roller scout vehicle is also not included.
