Opis od sprzedawcy
Rahmet Redzhepov (Ramzi) — Flamingo 2, 2026
Oil and acrylic on linen canvas | 100 × 60 cm | Unique original artwork stretched on a wooden stretcher
Flamingo 2 is an original work by Rahmet Redzhepov (Ramzi), a Latvia-based painter born in 1954 whose artistic practice spans more than five decades.
Redzhepov has developed an extensive artistic language encompassing portraiture, the human figure, landscapes, Baltic and maritime scenes, urban views, floral compositions, animals and experimental painting. His practice moves freely between observation, realism, impressionistic influences and expressive interpretation, with particular attention to color, movement, light and emotion.
His documented artistic activities include exhibitions and projects in Riga, Moscow, St. Petersburg, London, Helsinki and Cologne, as well as masterclasses in Latvia and Finland. According to the artist’s biographical records, his works have entered private collections internationally.
Teaching and artistic transmission also form an important part of his career. Redzhepov was an early art teacher of Maria Ruisi, artist, researcher and Founder & Artistic Director of Abstract Art Gallery, Riga. His approach to teaching emphasized direct observation, working from life, technical foundations and, above all, the development of an artist’s individual creative freedom.
In Flamingo 2, two flamingos emerge against an extraordinarily luminous green field. Fiery crimson and red meet lavender, violet and blue, creating two distinct personalities within a unified composition.
The elegant curves of their elongated necks establish the rhythm of the painting, while their overlapping bodies suggest companionship and connection. Rather than pursuing strict naturalism, Redzhepov uses expressive color and gesture to transform a recognizable subject into a celebration of movement, individuality, companionship and life.
Executed in oil and acrylic on linen canvas, the painting reveals layered pigments, expressive brushwork and visible variations in the surface. The electric green background dramatically amplifies the reds and violets, giving the work a powerful visual presence.
