Painter born in Surrey, who was educated at Taunton School and studied art at Kingston College of Art and Farnham School of Art. From 1925 to 1933 Morris painted and worked in the Australian outback boundary riding in cattle and sheep country. From 1942 to 1951 he lived in Africa and played polo extensively in Jos, Kaduna and South Africa and captained the Army in Lagos for two years. He studied marine painting under John Stobart, exhibiting regularly with the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Guildhall Art Gallery, London and also with the Federation of British Artists.
From 1970 Morris specialised exclusively in equestrian art and held solo exhibitions regularly at the Sandown race meetings. Three large works commissioned by United Racecourses Ltd. hang permanently in the foyer of Sandown Park Members' Stand. Morris was a founder member of the Society of Equestrian Artists in 1978 and his work has been published as prints by Aquila Fine Arts Ltd. and Messrs. Solomon and Whitehead (Guild Prints Ltd.)
Please note. Due to the fragile nature of old frames and glass, our shippers do not provide insurance for any damage caused during transit. We go to great lengths to ensure each painting is packed and protected to a very high standard but sadly cannot compensate or refund for any damage occurring to frames or glass during transit. Therefore the frame and any glass is a gift to you with zero value and you are bidding on the artwork only.
Due to Brexit, there are delays at EU customs borders though the situation is improving. Please do not blame me for delays or any customs duty payable. I really appreciate your understanding and patience. Steve.
