Opis od sprzedawcy
To zabytkowy męski zegarek kieszonkowy produced by the historic watch brand Union. The brand name 'Union' was registered at the beginning of the 20th century by the renowned Swiss manufacturer Adolphe Schild (AS) from Grenchen, at the time one of the leading producers of high‑quality timepieces and ebauches. This particular piece dates from the 1930s–1940s and is designed in the characteristic Art Deco style of that period. The two‑tone silver and matte dial features stylized black Arabic numerals, a sunk seconds hand at the 6 o’clock position, and bears the markings 'UNION' and 'ancre'. The deep‑blue Breguet‑style hands give the dial a striking and elegant appearance.
The mechanical movement is of high quality and is clearly stamped with the brand name 'UNION' on the gear train. It is a Swiss lever escapement (ancre), built at the Adolphe Schild factory and known for its precision and reliability at the time. The movement is also engraved 'NON-MAGNETIC', which at the time represented an advanced technical innovation to protect the balance spring from magnetic fields. The movement features a manual remontoir winding system via the knurled crown at the top, and its beat rate can be manually adjusted with the regulator lever. The pocket watch is in working order.
The metal case has an open‑face (lepine) construction with a beautifully striped vertical Art Deco motif on the back cover. The pendant ring above the crown is ornately decorated with a classic floral relief. Inside the back cover there is the stamped unique serial number 42438. The case closes well, shows light and characteristic patina around the edges, and the dial is in good condition.
