My practice focuses on boundary states – moments where different conditions meet and start to affect each other. I am interested in subtle tension, not open conflict, but situations where balance is still present but already unstable. I began working on this during the pandemic, when I saw how quickly emotional and social structures can change. Later, after emigrating, this became part of my personal experience. Since then, I work from within this condition: adapting, integrating, and living with a sense of instability. I work with color and abstract form in paintings and works on paper. Color is not decoration, but a structure. It builds relationships, creates tension, and shows hidden or suppressed states. A key element in my work is the “active perimeter,” where the painting continues onto its sides and affects peripheral vision. Each work is like a system under pressure: it holds together, but only just. I see my practice as an open process, where perception, environment, and internal states influence each other and shape the work.
