Large Crusader period sgraffiato flanged rim bowl with a ring base. Yellow mustard glaze with additional colouring in green. The decoration, which appears in two wide bands bound by triple brown grooves on the floor and inner wall, as well as on the rim, has been cut through (hence, sgraffiato) the yellow surface coat of glaze into the brown slip. This brown undercoat can seen on part of the underside. Recalls the Levantine products of Port St Symeon (Turkey). 12th-13th century. The vessel has long ago been repaired (the vessel comprises three large fragments, more visible on the photos of the underside). It was originally complete except for c. 18 cm of the rim, which has been replaced-restored.
