Polished brass statue tumbs-up sign The piece is part of a NOIR Furniture series that features the most iconic hand symbols often used by people all over the globe. The tumbs-up gesture has a long history, although it is unclear exactly where and when it originated. Some suggest it’s origins can be traced back all the way to the Roman Empire, where the gesture was used by the crowd to indicate what the fate of a gladiator should be in the arena. Today the gesture is widely used and fairly universally associated with positivity, approval, achievement, satisfaction and solidarity.
