An exceptional example of ancient Roman weaponry - superbly preserved Legionary PUGIO dagger in iron and bronze.
As shown in the Coulston & Bishop work "Roman Military Equipment", this pattern of the classic Roman side arm is from the 2nd - 3rd Century AD - see attachments.
It remains in fantastic condition with a beautifully patinated detailed bronze pommel.
460 x 60mm, 248gr.
