古罗马 银, 黄铜色 医疗器械收藏

Attention: due to customs regulations we can only ship inside the European Union. Please ensure you have a valid EU shipping address before placing a bid. Collection of 3 Roman medical instruments. A bronze hook with a decorated knob, a very rare silver dosing spoon with a straight blade and a ribbed suspension loop and a bronze tinned (or silver billon) spoon with decorated handle and short pin on the other side. This short pin can also be a connection for a handle. Length 1: ± 68,2 mm Length 2: ± 71,3 mm Length 3: ± 95,9 mm Good and solid condition, all 3 items have an attractive patina. Signs of wear consistent with age and use. Certificate of Authenticity (PDF) is available upon request. MATERIAL This object has been carefully examined with regard to its material composition and surface characteristics. Specialised laboratory analysis such as metallurgical testing (e.g. XRF) is not routinely undertaken in private collecting and is more commonly associated with academic or institutional research. Destructive testing methods (such as acid testing) permanently damage the object’s surface and are not appropriate for archaeological material. Historically, modern hallmarking systems did not exist. The alloy composition of gold and silver could vary depending on local resources, trade networks, recycling practices and prevailing economic conditions.
