An impressive and rare specimen of Hackmanite — the UV-reactive variety of sodalite — from the iconic Sar-e-Sang locality in Badakhshan, Afghanistan. This piece features twinned, light pink/purple crystals, some partially terminated, with a soft pastel appearance in daylight. Under UV light, however, the transformation is dramatic — the specimen becomes intensely fluorescent, glowing brilliantly and vividly, far stronger than typical hackmanite responses. Such extreme UV reactivity, combined with the defined crystal twinning, makes this a particularly desirable specimen for collectors of fluorescent minerals or rare feldspathoids. Hackmanite of this intensity from Sar-e-Sang is not commonly available.
