A fine Ancient Roman bronze follis of Constans. The obverse displays the pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constans facing left, holding a globe in his right hand, accompanied by the legend D N CONSTANS P F AVG. The reverse features a solider, helmeted, draped and cuirassed, advancing right, with his head left. He is leading a small bare-headed figure from a hut beneath a tree with his right hand and holding spear in left hand. The accompanying legend reads FEL•TEMP•REPARATIO. Mintmark, possibly TRS or TRP in exergue. The coin was likely minted in Trier in AD 348-350. Diameter: (circa) 2.2cm Weight: 4.57g Provenance: Ex Cambridgeshire private collection, acquired 1970s.
