A beautiful and functional pair of antique adjustable brass chamber candlesticks, originating from England and dating to the late Victorian / early Edwardian period (circa 1880–1910).

These elegant candlesticks feature the classic push-up candle mechanism, operated by a small sliding knob on the stem.

This ingenious design allowed the candle to be gradually pushed upward while burning, ensuring that every part of the candle could be used – a practical feature widely used before the introduction of electric lighting.

Each candlestick stands on a wide circular drip tray and is fitted with a graceful scroll handle, allowing the candleholder to be carried safely from room to room. These types of portable chamber candlesticks were commonly used in bedrooms, hallways and staircases during the Victorian era.

Crafted from solid brass, the pair displays a warm, authentic patina developed over time, adding to their historic character and decorative appeal. Their elegant proportions make them equally suitable for classic interiors, country houses, antique collections, or refined modern décor.
