英属维尔京群岛. Proof Set 1974 (没有保留价)
The 1974 British Virgin Islands (Îles Vierges Britanniques) silver coin set refers to the official 6-piece Proof Set issued that year by the British Virgin Islands (a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean). It is also known as the “First Coinage” or “Coinage of the British Virgin Islands” Proof Set, struck by the Franklin Mint.
Set Composition
This set typically includes 6 coins:
• 1 Cent — Bronze (featuring a pelican or similar design).
• 5 Cents, 10 Cents, 25 Cents, and 50 Cents — Cupro-nickel (with local flora, fauna, or symbols).
• 1 Dollar — Sterling silver (.925 fine), weighing 25.7 g, with 0.7643 oz actual silver weight (ASW). The reverse shows a frigate bird (a bird native to the islands), and the obverse has the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (designed by Gilroy Roberts, famous for the U.S. Kennedy half dollar).
The other coins in the set are not silver, only the $1 coin is. The full set is often marketed as a “silver proof set” because of the highlight silver dollar and its premium proof finish.
